Last night, I was invited to the Appreciation Night of Sun City Suites as part of their 2nd anniversary celebration. The theme of the party was Casino/Vegas..and boy, these kids really know how to throw some parteyyy!

I love how the whole room looked! I also loved how they injected these little elements to really achieve a Casino-vibe. I mean, where did they get those feather-looking centerpieces?

When you arrive at the venue, these large playing cards will greet you and some more playing cards that will lead you to the party…cool, noh?

And then, there were performances in true Casino Royale-fashion courtesy of the Sun City Suites staff (Is it a requirement that you can sing and dance to work for Sun City, eh?) 

Mr. Bong Sun, Sun City Suites Corporate Secretary led the toast.

And they awarded their top corporate and government accounts. Obviously, this is the main reason for the party, to thank their patrons and accounts which have been supporting them for the couple of years of operations…

I did not miss the opportunity to have a picture with a “bunny”! So adorable! haha

And they even have poker tables inside! Details! Details! :)

And the souvenir? Playing cards of course!

Some prizes were given away. Joanne was lucky and brought home some GC’s from Music City.

It was a classic LBD with fringes and tassles, and how it isn’t too short that accentuates my ehem, legs..just perfect for the theme of the party. I was also thrilled that my hair is long enough and is now manageable. I just put on some heels that were surprisingly comfortable. Thanks to Joanne who did my make-up! :)

And here we are with Kate who obviously looks really good here. She told us that they were preparing for this party since April and I think that all their preparations and hardwork were all worth it! Congratulations to Sun City Suites!

I had fun last night. It was good to doll-up once in a while and meet a few people and to see and be seen at the same time. It was also our way of supporting our friend Kate. By the way, we also supported Kate last year through their Night Run Series. 

Tonight, Sun City will hold their Night Run Series for the second year to cap off their anniversary celebration. I am still thinking whether to come or not because I am not sure how my lungs will handle the whole thing… I am not as physically well as compared to last year…But oh, well.

I was invited to the first birthday celebration of Baby Zahra Kate, the niece of my good friend Freyti :) Had I known that it was Tinkerbell-themed party, I should have dressed for the occasion..LOL (That was a looong story, bottomline, I was clueless of the party’s theme until I got to the venue..blame it on Freyti!)

I am only writing this blog because my friend Jay Ian requested me to. Haha! (not that I am complaining or anything..so here goes..)

I couldn’t remember how everything started. What I can remember though was that it all started with the news that Anne Curtis is going to have her concert in the city and Joanne got really excited she told our other friends Shai, Ahleen and Kate..and one shisha night they came up with a name to brand their fans club..our fans club, Annettes.

You see, Anne Curtis is considered to be the hottest and bankable TV star in Philippine Showbiz right now..She is also among the “it” girls and graces almost every cover of magazines and all sorts of endorsements from telecoms, sanitary napkins, anti-cancer injectibles, beauty products, etc..She is also part of this variety show and has just recently come back after filming a Hollywood indie film in..err..Hollywood. 

So anyway, she was scheduled to do the concert last Saturday, June 30. 

And here’s to show you more or less how that day came to be…

We were interviewed by VIVA Entertainment, Anne’s agency (So if you see me on TV, just please don’t tell me! )

Anne was nice naman. She is very approachable to her fans and does not mind taking a few photos with them..

Seeing Ritz (ontheritz.tumblr.com/@GForce_Ritz) honestly, was I was SOOOO looking forward to. I have always been a fan ever since I saw him dance in Ateneo.   As I remember, he was not really that approachable back then..maybe he was just shy especially that we weren’t even classmates and all…

But when I saw him last Saturday, and the fact that he even hugged and made beso in the restaurant (and tried to do some small talks with me), backstage of the concert and on the bar as if seeing me as an old friend, I saw a different person..and I admire him more (and trust me, I saw the sincerity and no kaplastikan at all!).

The night came and Joanne, Kristelle and John, Kate and I had dinner at VBar in Sun City Complex before heading to the venue…

Si Joanne na ang naka-outfit! Of course, she was on platinum!

I was happy to see this two people get along well..You see, I have a little side kuwento lang…Kate’s mom used to be the ex of Kristelle’s Dad! Yep! Imagine, if they ended up together..I won’t have Kate and Kristelle as my closest girl friends, siguro! And the irony now is, they both work in separate hotels and got the same job in Sales and Marketing..Which means they are work rivals! HAHA!

The concert started at around 9:30 PM.

I wasn’t really impressed with the stage design. In fact, I was disappointed really..Well, not to brag or anything, I had staged a more complicated and more astig stage design when we did Awitenista 2009 back in college. We had three screens next to each other and they were hanging pa on top and playing three different videos at the same time…for real!  So, oh well..that was 2009 and this is 2012..haha! (Hambogera lang!) 

But the lights and effects are good..halatang hindi local ang supplier! I miss doing productions!

It was a fun and enjoyable concert to be honest. And in fairness to her, the voice did not sound that awful..until I found out that some parts of the songs were taped..hahaha! Oh well, I wasn’t surprised at all..GForce was great as usual, Jon Santos was awesome and really smart..Erik Santos, was well..okay..and Rachelle Ann Go is still really impressive..I hope she comes back to ABS-CBN..

I can see these two lovebirds are enjoying the concert…hmmm…Ganda ng Beshie ko noh? :) Nahiya naman ako sa inyo!

Rume-red lips lang? I am not bagay! hahaha! I can do well without makeup!

After the concert, we were lucky to have a picture taken with Anne..and yah, she was not looking at this particular one..I think it’s on the other cam..the official one..haha Shaira (the one on the left side of Anne) came all the way from Davao! 

This was really funny..we were looking for the GForce and was told that they already left..when we were looking for a way out, we happened to find them backstage! haha! And Ritz introduced as to the whole crew and they were so nice to have a picture taken with us even if it’s obvious na they were all tired na! GForce, I am such a fan :) Promise! Please stay humble guys ha. I’ll be sad if I hear na lumaki mga ulo niyo..because you guys are so nice and very talented! :)

We went to Pahayahay to eat and to VBar and they danced..sila lang coz I don’t really go to bars..that night was an exception..haha! I was surprised when I saw Anne there with the GForce..siya na ang more energy mas happy! We went home around 4am.

Because of that day, I realized that being famous, beautiful and rich aren’t all that glamorous…I can’t imagine living a life being followed by strangers..you can’t sleep if you want to..you need to smile all the time..you need to look good all the time..but anyway, she has the money so it isn’t that bad at all..haha!
